Description.

Strongly aromatic shrub to 2.5 metres. The sticky leaves are generally narrow (though broader than those of other local Cassinia species) and > 4 centimetres long. The lower surface of the leaf is hairier and paler than the upper surface. The white flowers occur in large clusters at the top of the branches, forming a crown over the top of the plant. These tend to attract large numbers of insects. The seeds are tiny and possess a feathery crown of hairs, which encourages their dispersal by wind. They detach easily from the plant. The plant has a somewhat spicy scent.

Propagation.

Seed germinates without pre-treatment, though large quantities of seed may be needed.

Chiefly December to April.

Murraguldrie Flora Reserve and surrounds. A higher-rainfall species.
